A Florida man who has been convicted of murdering one man and attacking the man’s wife is asking the judge to get rid of his death sentence.

The man was largely convicted on the handprint he supposedly left on the victim’s ax cabinet. Unfortunately, experts last year determined that there was no possible way for that handprint to match the convicted individual. The convicted’s new lawyers are also arguing that the convicted’s original lawyers messed up by not having his blood examined for cocaine at the time of the trial. Florida’s laws allow for lesser penalties for individuals who are under the influence of substances at the time of their crime.

A doctor who is already facing charges for inappropriately touching his female patients is now facing criminal charges.

The Pasco-Pinellas State Attorney’s Office has officially charged Dr. Gunwant S Dhaliwal with two counts of misdemeanor battery. This crime carries with it, if convicted, a potential penalty of up to a year in a county jail.

The doctor, of Trinity, has been accused of fondling the breasts of two of his female patients in February and May of 2007. The names of the victims have not been released due to the nature of the crime. The two are also plaintiffs in separate lawsuits against the doctor which were filed in Pasco-Pinellas Circuit Court last year. The lawsuits are currently pending.

The doctor operates the Gulf View Walk-in Clinics located in New Port Richey, Holiday, and Spring Hill. He holds a board-certification in internal medicine and has been operating a private practice since 1993. The state’s records show no disciplinary record and that his license is active. Dr. Dhaliwal also holds staff privileges at hospitals in Hudson, Spring Hill, and Tarpon Springs.

The supsect in a bank holdup in Palm Harbor is still at loose, despite the best efforts of the Pinellas County Sheriffs Department.

The suspect is at large after holding up a Liberty Bank. The suspect walked in Tuesday morning and demanded cash from the bank teller. When the teller wasn’t quite quick enough, he lifted his coat to show what appeared to be a shotgun. He then made the people in the bank lie on the floor while he took off for a silver car.

The sheriffs department has released a description of the suspect. They still do not have a name.

A police dog stopped two would-be burglars in the act of burglarizing a salvage yard.

The two suspects are currently behind bars and recovering from bite wounds to the face and arms. An employee of the salvage yard who was spending the evening at work heard the alarm go off and called the police.

When the police officer and his canine partner arrived, they tracked the suspects to their hiding spot under a tarp. The dog dragged one suspect out from under the tarp while another surrendered. The dog then signalled that there was a third suspect under the tarp. The third refused to come out even after being warned multiple times that if he didn’t come out, the dog would go in.

The two injured suspects were taken to a hospital for treatment and then the Pinellas County Jail. All suspects were charged with burglary, grand theft, trespass, and possession of burglary tools.

Two men who were accused of murdering a man, his wife, and their two little boys could be cleared of all charges, if their defense attorneys get what they want.

The defense attorneys want the federal prosecutors to release a 911 call that they says proves that there is no way the two accused could have committed the murders.

According to toll booth records, the two men handed in a toll booth ticket at 3:02 a.m. The murder reportedly took place 9 minutes after that. The problem is that the murder took place more than 50 miles north of the toll plaza a mere nine minutes after the toll booth ticket was handed in.

If you have been charged with a crime you did not commit, please contact the Clearwater criminal defense lawyers of the Law Offices of Tragos & Sartes at 727-441-9030 to discuss your situation.
